Become a Friend of Riverside Cemetery!

Our first undertaking is the construction of a Meditation Garden, to be located about 25 feet behind the Riverside Cemetery sign. (See landscape plan to the right.) The purpose of the garden is to provide a space for quiet reflection and remembrance.

There are 3 participation levels to become a Friend of Riverside Cemetery, and participate in our Meditation Garden project:

1. Donor — all donors who make gifts of $25 or more will be listed on the Friends of Riverside Cemetery page on our website.
2. Supporter — donors of $300 or more will have their names engraved with other Supporters on the raised granite border that edges the garden. (We anticipate that approximately 12 donors can be listed on each of the 4’ long raised granite border stones.) At least one of the raised granite border stones will be reserved as an “Donations Made in Memory Of” stone, in the case where a donor would prefer to make an in memoriam donation rather than listing their own name on the the granite.
3. Underwriter — donors of $5,000 will be recognized by a 4’ long rectangular granite bench in the garden. Donors at this level can select a message memorializing a loved one, or a quote, etc., that will be engraved on the top surface of the bench.

If donated funds exceed the costs of construction of the Meditation Garden, they will be allocated to future site landscape improvements (75%), with the remainder (25%) to be allocated to the perpetual care fund for future cemetery maintenance.
